Review: Embrace the Night by Norah Wilson & Heather Doherty

Embrace the Night (Casters, #3)
Thanks to Brooke, she, Maryanne and Alex are trapped even deeper in the Caster world, and inside their dark selves. Racing the clock, they must find a way back before they find themselves stranded in the very night they sought to claim. But even as they search for a solution, the Heller stories are growing, giving rise to panic among the superstitious citizens of Mansbridge. Armed with fury, fire and iron, the hunters are looking to "send the Hellers back to hell." And this time, it's more than just the usual handful of vocal Heller haters. It's a mob. But the Casters have a righteous fury of their own. God help anyone who dares harm one.

Shona's review 5 of 5 stars

When you can fall in to a book and not leave it until you have devoured the story within you cant give it anything less than 5 stars. And this book deserves every single one of those stars. This story is gripping and fast paced and like the books that have come before it is filled with true to life characters. Each girl has their own issues that they are trying to work through, issues that drew them together, and in Brookes case, issues that cause her to lash out and in doing so could push her caster sisters away from her for ever.

This book has dealt with some serious issues in the past, Alex's rape, Maryanne's baby brother dying, and in this book I cried with Brooke. Her utter despair at feeling like she was being cast out by everyone, including her sisters is just heartbreaking. More so because we the reader know that isn't the case, but with how her family have pushed her out over the years its easy to understand why she would feel that way.

This book picks up right where the last left off, with the girls at the mercy of Bryce Walker, only this time Bryce is trying to help the girls. But can they trust him? Turns out Bryce isn't the only person in town who knows the girls secret and is trying to help them return to their bodies, but in a town filled with Heller Hunters and their new allies previously working against them, or at least seeming to in some cases, the girls really don't know who to trust. And it wasn't just the girls, the reader is kept guessing too.

I cant wait to read the next instalment.
