It's rule breaker Emily Foster's birthday, and like everyone else at the Jungle Room she just wants to have fun and to get some action. Fortunately she stumbles onto the wrong kind of action and witness's a mob hit. To protect her from the mob, Emily enters the Witness Protection Program with Special Agent Jake Ward as her protector and chaperone.
When the location of their safe house is compromised, Jake stashes Emily deep in the Texas backwoods in an effort to keep her safe. The city might be safe from the Mafia but that doesn't stop her from encountering a pyschotic rooster, narcoleptic dog crazy cowboys, or worse still, she risks losing her heart to a man she can't and shouldn't have.
Jake is as hot as he is infuriating and Emily can't help but push his buttons. Their mutual sexual attraction poses a problem, Jake needs to keep Emily from falling into the wrong hands and she is determined to end up in the right ones- his.
